about

‘The Miracle on the Vistula,’
Cud nad Wisłą (15th August 1920) was a decisive Polish victory during the Polish–Soviet War (1919-1921) and miraculously coincided with the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The River Vistula Wisła is the longest and largest river in Poland and has inspired many Slavic myths and legends. Queen Wanda of Poland c. 8th century allegedly threw herself into the River Vistula to avoid marrying a German prince.

lyrics

MIRACLE ON THE VISTULA I’m going down to Kraków to take my blues away
Are my blues away?
Am I going to be safe?
Take me to the bridge
Will I ever escape from this Hell? Or is the Wisła the only answer?
I’m going to y, way up in the sky
And it won’t take long to reach the Light Or is the Wisła the only answer?
I’m going down to Kraków to take my blues away
I see the vision of Mother Mary she comes to me
I see the vision of Mother Mary she comes to save my shattered soul Is it a Miracle on the Wisła?
Tears are falling down my face
Oh help me please as I take my soul into a dark place And the rain beats down on my face
Oh help me please as I face the river
Am I to drown or is the Wisła the only answer?
And do I have to breathe this evil, evil darkness? And do I have to become this evil, evil darkness? Do I have to breathe this awful, awful darkness? And do I have to become this evil, evil darkness?
Please help break their spell...
I’m going down to Kraków to take my blues away Lalala
